Jennifer Hudson once again providing underprivileged students with school supplies – scar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson and her sister Julia Hudson will pass out school supplies to underprivileged children and their families during the fifth annual Hatch Day Friday at Kroc Center Chicago in the West Pullman neighborhood — just like they always do on August 14. The date is the birthday of her late nephew, Julian King, who was murdered in 2008 along with their mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson. Like the Show, ‘American Idol’ Winner Nick Fradiani Is No Passing Fad – Nick talks about the plan for his debut album: “The album is being written right now. Scott has had me writing with some really strong songwriters prior to the tour, so any day off I have I am flying to Nashville or New York to work on writing. As soon as the tour ends, we’ll be going right back into that songwriting process, and then we’ll record it. In terms of an exact release date, we don’t have one. From ‘Idol’ teen to country queen: Lauren Alaina headlines party at the Crown – American Idol season 10 runner-up, Lauren Alaina, is headlining a New Artist Showcase Parking Lot Party at the Crown Complex on Friday at 7 p.m. What Lauren has coming up next, “I’ve got this new music coming out, the new single comes out Oct. 5 and then the album will be out shortly after that. And I’m getting back on the road so people can see me again. She talks to Nashville Scene about her career and stint on the show. How AGT allowed her to be more herself musically, “It was kind of like my only chance I had left. I really believed that. … Of course, I’m not gonna sing anything that I don’t believe in. I think they have a really great collection of producers and people working on the show that were really excited about what I did naturally.
