Interview: Caleb Lee Hutchinson’s “Slot Machine Syndrome” EP Takes Country Roots In Dynamic Directions – AH: Regarding what you listen to, do you think that people might be surprised by what kinds of music you like? CLH: Shuffle on my phone is dangerous! I grew up on old Country and Classic Rock, and very early in my teenage years, I got very much into heavy metal and punk. I was weirdly into Black Flagg when I was around 12. These days, I listen to a lot of emo. I would say that’s what annoys most people who ride with me down the road. I love Dashboard Confessional. I’m a huge Say Anything fan. There’s Taking Back Sunday, tons of it. I think, weirdly, there are a lot of parallels between country, Americana, and emo. – Read more at American Highways

Lauren Alaina Opens Up About Pandemic Depression and New Album: “Writing Was Really Healing For Me” – Yeah, I didn’t realize how much of who I am came from being on stage until I couldn’t do it anymore. I would get into this routine on the road where I’d just go through the motions until that one hour of the day, which was my favorite part. When that went away, it was like, ‘Oh… my gosh.’ Outside of my career itself, even, it was just realizing that what we all do on a daily basis can all go away. That gave us all a much greater appreciation for our lives. It really gives you a lot of perspective. I’m so excited for us to get back to some normalcy and safety for everyone. Boy, when we get there, we’re gonna be ready to roll, aren’t we? – Read more at American Songwriter

Luke Bryan Walks Niece Jordan Down the Aisle — and Sweetly Fixes Her Veil — During Intimate Wedding – On Sunday, the 45-year-old country singer walked his niece, Jordan Cheshire, down the aisle as she got married to Clint Eudy at the Troubadour Golf and Field Club in Tennessee. Jordan, 26, is one of three children of Bryan’s late sister Kelly and late brother-in-law Lee. In 2007, Kelly died suddenly of natural causes. Seven years later, her husband Lee succumbed to a heart attack. Since the unexpected deaths, Bryan and his wife, Caroline, have raised their children. During the reception, the country star also shared a dance with his niece to Phil Collins’ “You’ll Be In My Heart” as all the guests watched.
