‘American Idol’ winner Nick Fradiani comes to Hanover in Broadway tour of ‘A Bronx Tale’ – Nick Fradiani had never acted and sung in a musical until he was approached by the producers of the 2019–2020 North American tour of the Broadway musical “A Bronx Tale.” Now he’s on the road with it. “It is the first musical I’ve done in my entire life, which is pretty crazy,” he said. But Fradiani didn’t necessarily have to worry about performing live and stage fright. “I’ve been comfortable in front of a crowd,” said the 2015 winner of “American Idol.” He was also the lead singer of pop/rock band Beach Avenue when it won battle of the Bands at Mohegan Sun in 2011. Cassadee Pope, Brett James & More Tell the Stories Behind the Songs for ASCAP Experience in the Round – Seven years ago, Pope was crowned winner of The Voice, and throughout her performance, she shared some stories behind her songs, including penning “Sis” with James during a writing retreat in a haunted medieval castle in France. “It was really amazing, but we wrote a song in this really creepy room where bad things happened to innocent women and I was in the mind-set that day to write a song about my sister,” she said. “I was like, ‘Well, if I write a song about my sister that is really empowering, maybe all the ghosts and weird people that are still in this room won’t bother me.’” – Read more at Billboard
Five contestants from ‘The Voice’ will perform at the Buckhead Theatre – Although the NBC amateur singing competition show “The Voice” has yet to discover a mega singing sensation the likes of “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson, it has enhanced the careers of numerous “undiscovered” vocalists. Five of those alums, including Marietta resident Alex Guthrie, will headline a concert Jan. 26 at the Buckhead Theatre. Guthrie, 26, has been singing and playing guitar since he was 13.
