Blake Shelton Re-Ups With Warner Music Nashville – Country superstar and “Voice” coach Blake Shelton has been a Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville recording artist for 17 years, and Wednesday night he signed a deal that means he’ll be with the label for even longer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. “I remember my first trip to Nashville in 1994,” said Shelton. “I drove down Music Row and don’t know why, but when I passed the Warner Bros. building I said, ‘That’s the label I want to be on!’ Now, all these years later, I’m proud to have spent my entire recording career with such a great company. Kelly Clarkson says ‘Christmas Eve’ hit was a ‘happy accident – Kelly Clarkson said she never expected her latest holiday hit, “Christmas Eve,” to take off the way it has in part because it was written for a children’s book. ‘Christmas Eve’ actually wasn’t supposed to be a single or a song out for anything,” Clarkson, 35, told ABC News. “And then it ended up being such a big song they were like, ‘Wait, we want to release this!’ And I was like, ‘Oh, OK!'” The song was originally meant to be part of Clarkson’s book, “River Rose and the Magical Christmas,” she said. Did you feel nervous or insecure at first? That was a little difficult, because I went into it thinking that I was super confident, and a lot of people talked about how I didn’t seem confident. It’s just that when you go from playing in the bars where you know people to playing for a crowd that you have to win over, it’s more complicated. You’re trying to win over a crowd that doesn’t know who you are, and it’s intimidating because you don’t know if they’re going to love you or hate you.
