Singer Danny Gokey tunes up Brentwood Bed and Breakfast – Gokey and his second wife Leyicet purchased Brentwood’s only bed and breakfast in 2016. The couple now happily welcomes guests to their contemporary Southern colonial style retreat for about the same price per night as a room in an area hotel. “In the mornings, we have deer come on the property and eat the flowers,” said Leyicet Gokey, who said the house is surrounded by five acres and includes a barn. “I think here what we offer, it’s very accessible to popular areas and it’s in a very peaceful spot,” Danny Gokey said. – Read more at the Tennessean

It’s ‘Obvi’ Why ‘American Idol’ Alum Elliott Yamin Teamed Up With Bangladesh-Born EDM Producer Sanjoy – Sanjoy was introduced to American Idol season 5 alum Yamin by a mutual friend, Russell Ali. “Russell and I have been friends for the better part of 10 years,” Yamin explains. “He played guitar in my touring band for the first four years of my post-Idol career. He asked me to come to his studio to meet Sanjoy and vibe with some of his tracks. I loved his energy and his music, and instantly fell in love with the demo version of ‘Obvi,’ obviously!” – Read more at Billboard

‘American Idol’ star Alex Preston to play at the Cap Center – As I spoke with Preston, I learned that he’s pretty “cool” himself. He plays a dozen instruments and writes all his own lyrics and music. He doesn’t have a record label – “I kind of am the label,” he said. He chooses his own backing musicians – usually his friends who aren’t even professionals. He recorded his debut album by himself in a cabin somewhere in the North Country. He still talks to a ton of his old New Hampshire friends. – Read more at The Concord Insider

Former Fayetteville resident, ‘The Voice’ contestant was part of Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl show – Former Fayetteville resident Luke Edgemon got as close a look as you could get. He performed with Gaga, at times seemingly just off her shoulder. He was among backup dancers and singers for “Just Dance,” her first hit, which was a part of a medley she performed. Starting a couple of days before the Super Bowl, Edgemon teased his 17,000 followers on Twitter and 13,000 on Instagram that he’d have a role in the halftime performance. – Read more at Fay Observer

Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Roof Jump & Drones Were Pre-Recorded – “There’s a lot of weather and environment (issues),” Intel general manager Natalie Cheung said. “In February, you don’t know what it will be like during Super Bowl day. We’d hate to plan all this and, if the wind speeds are too high or if it’s raining and the roof is closed, no one can see this spectacular show. So our creative team as well as the Super Bowl creative team felt this would be best to be filmed.” But just because it was pre-recorded, doesn’t mean it was fake. They just pulled it off in conditions they could control. “Lady Gaga also was on the roof when this was filmed, and from a logistics and creative perspective, it’s a bit hard for her to go from the roof all the way down to the floor of the stadium,” Cheung continued. – Read more at Billboard
