Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie in Milwaukee filming ‘American Idol’ auditions at the Art Museum – The next “American Idol” might be discovered in Milwaukee Wednesday. The singing-competition series has set up camp in town to film auditions for the show’s third season on ABC. The auditions are closed to the public, and while open auditions were announced in multiple cities this summer and early fall, Milwaukee wasn’t one of them. On the media front, only ABC affiliates WISN-TV (Ch. 12) in Milwaukee and WKOW-TV (Ch. 27) in Madison got the tip-off and were on hand Tuesday to cover the first day of auditions in Milwaukee.
