Alex Boniello, David Cook, & More Stars Set For BROADWAY SINGS ALANIS – The acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series will continue on August 20 at 8pm, honoring singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette with a cast of Broadway stars including Alex Boniello (Dear Evan Hansen), Lauren Patten (Fun Home), Ben Thompson (Waitress), and American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook (Kinky Boots). The one-night-only concert will feature completely new arrangements of the hits of the iconic multi-instrumentalist, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music. I feel somewhat reassured by amazing security teams that have been put into place, at least for our concerts. I think there’s a lot of new security protocols that have been put into place, both on stage and in the audience, so that makes me feel better. “American Idol” winner, Iowa-native says she’s excited to return to Omaha – “When I was announced the winner, I kind of had like a flashback, like, of everything that has happened so far,” Poppe said. It started with her Omaha audition, a place she says she is excited to return to for the American Idol tour, almost exactly one year later. “It’s closest to where I live, but also, it’s going to be really cool to play in Omaha because Omaha is where the entire American Idol experience started for me,” Poppe said.
