Happy Canada Day Everyone!
With 68.46% of reports in, Ed Sheeran is singing his way to the top of the chart. Billboard predicts that “x” will sell in the 200K range which would make it the largest debut week for a pop album in 2014. Only rockers Coldplay and Country artists Eric Church & Brantley Gilbert have opened larger.
Sam Smith is spending his second week at number 2, while G-Eazy (rapper) debuts in 3rd. Lana Del Rey drops to 4th in her second week and epic jam rockers Phish are debuting in 5th. “Frozen” continues to freeze out the competition at 5th and Miranda Lambert (featuring a track from Carrie Underwood) remains steady at 7th. Linkin Park is 8th in their second week, metal rockers Mastodon are 9th and Now 50th (featuring Kelly Clarkson and Carly Rae Jepsen on the deluxe version ) is 10th. Now 49 featuring One Direction is also on the charts way back in 49th.
Phillip Phillip’s “Behind the Light” slips back into the top 50. Judges are represented by JLo (27th in her second week), Blake Shelton (32) and Pharrell Williams (34)
