HDD – Album Sales Prediction : June 6-12

Last week, the industry pundits predicted that it would be a close race between Adele and Gaga for number one on the album charts this week. With 54.98% reporting, it isn’t a close race at all. But things can change quickly as the rest of the market report. Check to see who is in front and how your favourites are doing after the jump.

Adele is far out in front and looks ready to reclaim the number one spot on the Album charts that she has held so many times this year. But, there is still a significant number of retailers left to report, so Gaga could make up the 20K+ difference and more and hold onto top billing for a third week.

The top debut is Ronnie Dunn’s eponymously named album in third. Dunn has long been a member of the country power duo Brooks & Dunn and this is his first solo effort since the group formed in 1990. Right behind him is another country dude, but one we’ve been seeing on these charts for a while. Jason Aldean just keeps selling and selling and his performance last week with Ludacris is only going to help that. Also helping? His duet with Kelly Clarkson which has crossed-over onto HAC and AC. Kelly isn’t the only one dueting. Carrie’s duet with Brad Paisley is roaring up the country charts and is helping to keep his latest album at 6th. She also has a duet on the latest Randy Travis CD which is currently 19th on the chart.

The top 10 is rounded out by Now 38 (5), Tech N9ne (debuting at 7th), Def Leppard (debuting at 8th), Bruno Mars (lazily staying at 9th) and Glee Vol 6 (10).

The judges from these reality shows continue to use the exposure for maximum effect with JLo’s Love? at 18 and Blake Shelton’s greatest hits album from last November popping back up onto the charts.

AGT’s Michael Grimm is holding in there at 41.
