After last weeks anemic numbers, it’s nice to see somebody opening big. With 70.38% of reports in, rapper Rick Ross is looking to debut with 200-210K (currently at 132K). Right behind, but very, very far behind, is last week’s chart topper, Zac Brown Band. They are predicted to sell about the same amount as they did last week.
Justin Bieber and One Direction hold down 3rd and 4th spots for the Teenbeat crowd. Joss Stone and Adele represent the AAA ladies at 5th and 6th. Nas is in 7th (making it two rappers in the top 10). Gloriana (featuring America’s Most Talented Kids winner Cheyenne Kimball who also had a show on MTV called “Cheyenne” which featured her “boyfriend” at the time who went on to appear on Season 7 of American Idol…Jason Castro) is debuting in 8th, Luke Bryan is 9th and Kenny Chesney is 10th (making it 4 Country acts in the top 10).
The lone solo Idol is Carrie Underwood who is currently 13th. Kelly Clarkson appears on Jason Aldean’s album at 22nd. Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks appears on the Sparkle Soundtrack debuting at 27th (Soundtrack albums rarely do all that well until the movies come out). The Voice judges are representing at 15 (Adam Levine’s Maroon 5) and 28 (Blake Shelton on Now Country 5).
