HDD – Album Sales Prediction – Jan 17-23

With 55.94% of the chart reporting, it looks like there will be no record breaking lows this week. Thank goodness. The Decemberists are set to debut at number one with about 65-70K (Friday predictions. Currently at 35, 481). Next up is the latest in the never ending Kidz Bop albums. This one is called 19, but it isn’t in honour of our favourite Idol puppet masters. Taylor Swift is rarely far from the top and she is third this week followed by Bruno Mars whose singles are giving that album legs. Also leggy, Jason Aldean’s “My Kind of Party”. The latest single from that album feature original recipe Idol Kelly Clarkson and it is tearing up the country charts and helping to keep the album in the top 5.

There isn’t a single solitary Idol on the HDD chart, but there are a few more Idols to be found lurking on other albums. Daughtry and Adam each have tracks on the latest Now album (which is clearly beating the Kidz since the Now folks are on album 36). Also, Jordin Sparks has a duet on the Big Time Rush album which is currently sitting at 40.

This is the daily numbers thread. The King may be dead, but this thread is not.
