Update: Final HDD numbers are in. Jennifer Hudson sold 167, 373.
This week features an impressive array of debut albums topping the chart. With almost 33% of the HDD market reporting in, 6 of the top 7 albums are debut albums. The lone hold out is Adele’s “21” which is currently in third. The much discussed Chris Brown is leading the way with an impressive 133K. Seems like people can’t get enough of this dressing room destroyer.
Next up is American Idol’s own Jennifer Hudson. She too is racking up the numbers with 88K sales in hand so far. “I Remember Me” is her sophomore album and she seems on track to have a good opening week.
Fourth through Seventh feature Kirk Franklin (Gospocentric????), Bobby V (Fly on the Wall), Strokes (Angles – no that is not a typo of Angels) and Guccie Mane (Return of Mr. Zone 6).
The only other Idol on the charts is Jason Aldean’s “My Kind of Party” which features a duet with Kelly Clarkson. It is currently at 31. Time for a new single.
