With 54.02% of the market reporting, this week’s top 5 features 3 debut albums. First up are the Foo Fighters who have a commanding lead. “Wasting Light” is their seventh album and their first number 1 album. This album is predicted to sell 33% higher than their previous album and will be the 4th highest debut of the year. Second is Alison Krauss and 4th is Mana. Coming in 3rd is Adele’s 21 and 5th is Britney’s Femme Fatale. It’s a good week for RCA with 5 of the top 10 albums (3 of those from Jive).
Jennifer Hudson continues to be the sole solo Idol on the chart. Her “I Remember Me” album is currently in tenth. Kelly’s duet with Jason Aldean was featured on Idol last week and helped to propel his album to the 7th slot on this week’s chart. Jordin also has a duet on Big Time Rush’s album, “B.T.R.” which is currently at 40.
