With 47.18% of the chart reporting in, Justin Timberlake is set to top the chart for the third consecutive week. Even though he is following typical first to second and second to third week, when you start that high, you have a lot of room to go before you hit the sales of typical albums. The “20/20 Experience” is expected to sell between 150K-170K. It should be the first album since Taylor Swift’s “Red” (Nov 10) to hold the top of the chart for three consecutive weeks.
The top debut currently, is Tyler the Creator’s “Wolf”, but when the dust settles, both Billboard and HDD are predicting that The Band Perry will be the top debut. Typically, Urban acts do better on the second day than Country acts, so I’m a little surprised “The Band Perry” isn’t already out in front.
Lil Wayne may not be a human being, but he is currently in 4th. Voice Judge Blake Shelton is 5th, Killswitch Engage is currently in 6th, a blast from the past (New Kids on the Block, no longer new or kids) are debuting in 7th, Imagine Dragons are 8th, P!nk is 9th and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis looking good in your grand-dads clothes are in 10th.
The top reality show contestant is last year’s American Idol winner, Phil Phillips. His “World from the Side of the Moon” is currently at 31st. Kelly Clarkson’s Greatest Hits are at 38th, Carrie Underwood is at 47th and Colton Dixon is still riding the Idol Results Show wave at 48th. One Direction from X-Factor is at 44th. Now 45, featuring Kelly, One Direction and Phil is at 20th.
