Harry Styles made his big debut on Saturday Night Live this week (April 15). The former One Direction member is gearing up to release his eponymous album on May 12. In the meantime, the X Factor alum performed the live debut of his new single “Sign of the Times” and introduced a new song from the upcoming set titled “Ever Since New York.”
While “Sign of the Times” is like a cross between John Lennon and David Bowie, Harry strapped on an electric guitar for “Ever Since New York.” The tune’s main riff recalls the hook from Badfinger’s epic song “Baby Blue.” It’s all so Beatlesque!
Beyond signing on live TV as a solo for the first time, Harry also took part in the very first episode of SNL to be broadcast live coast to coast in 42 years. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the history making episode also featured Harry in several skits. Click to Watch.
