Grammy Rumours

The deadline for Grammy eligibility was September 30th (that’s why Justin Timberlake and others released their albums on that Monday instead of waiting for the traditional Tuesday) and Grammy submissions are starting to leak. To be considered for a Grammy, one must first submit your song, record, whatever for consideration. Labels often make the submissions. There is some strategy involved. If you submit all the songs that you released in a year, you may dilute your vote amongst them. So, artists will often only submit one – the one they think is most likely to win. Sometimes, there is even a little category shopping. There are sometimes hundreds of submissions in a category.

Grammy nominations themselves won’t be announced until Dec 6th. The Grammys are generally held in February, but have been moved up to January 26th to avoid competing with the Winter Olympics. The eligibility period is from Oct 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013.

We haven’t seen the actual Grammy submission forms yet, but here is what is rumoured for our blog related artists (posted by The Max over on Pulse):
