Backstage after the Dancing with the Stars finale ended, NFL running back Rashad Jennings said he was shocked to win. Retired World Series champ David Ross said he was shocked to make the finals, let alone finish as runner-up. And, the studio audience was shocked — and quite upset, as evident from some hooting — that Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei didn’t finish higher than third. This, according to USAToday.
“I don’t know if you caught my face or not, but I literally could not believe it at all,” Jennings said of the moment he and pro partner Emma Slater were announced the winners. “It solidified all the hard work we put in. It was well worth it.”
After the competition, the Final 3 were immediately whisked away to New York City to appear on Good Morning America’s traditional “Dance Party.” Watch the finalists talk about their Dancing with the Stars journeys, and play a dance game that pits the girls against the boys.
Rashad revealed his plans to dedicate a DWTS room inside his home were he will also hang the costume he wore during his freestyle dance. “The spunk, the swag, the shoes, the dazzle,” he joked. “I don’t care about nobody else. That’s me. So that’ll be the one.”
