Glee Season 3 Spoilers! Confirmed Song List! Casting News! And More

Season 3 songs are up at Amazon. Check them out here

Episode 1 The Purple Piano Project

1. It’s Not Unusual – Blaine (Darren Criss) performs this Tom Jones classic with the Cheerios in the McKinley courtyard.
2. We Got The Beat – We’ve heard bits of this song in the promo. The song they perform in the cafeteria that causes a food fight!
3. Anything Goes / Anything You Can Do – (Glee project finalist, Lindsay Pearce, is featured in this number. She’s the lead singer of a rival Glee club)
4. Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead – Hm. Will the cast be dressed as munchkins? (Rachel & Kurt dance with brooms in one of the promos. Maybe this is the duos tap dance number)
5. You Can’t Stop The Beat – From “Hairspray”

Episode 2 – I Am Unicorn

1. “Something’s Coming” – The kids all audition for roles in West Side Story
2. “I’m The Greatest Star” – Sung by Kurt (the dangerous stunt Chris Colfer has hinting at in interviews. Reportedly, he auditions for for part of Tony in West Side Story. It involves hanging upside down from tall heights while singing. Sounds very Cirque Du Soleil. And hilarious.)

Casting News from EW

EW just got a peek at the latest casting call for the drama, which will return Sept. 20: “Young man 18 and over to play 17. He is extremely handsome. Must be an excellent singer. HUGE guest star, MAJOR recurring role.” Is Murphy about to top last season’s addition of Darren Criss? Stay tuned!

That’s not all: Looks like someone’s about to get a recruitment letter to play ball. (Hmm, wonder who THAT could be?) Murphy also wants a 30-something man to play Johnny, a “tall big dude who is an Ohio State football recruiter.” This, too,  will be a major recurring role.

So is it Finn (Corey Monteith) or Puck (Mark Salling) that has the recruiters calling? If it’s Finn, it could set up an interesting sports vs music story line.  Should he play ball, or run off to New York City with his step-brother and girlfriend to pursue dreams of stardom?

Spoilers from TV Line:

Question: Your Puck poll was fun and everything, but do you have any actual intel about who he’ll be dating post-Lauren on Glee?
Ausiello:
I’ll say this: In the wake of Zizes, Puck — while revisiting familiar romantic waters from Season 1 — finds a new woman. And that, my friends, is a riddle wrapped in an enigma.

Question: A few weeks ago Chris Colfer tweeted that he was filming something for Episode 3 of Glee that was both “dangerous” and potentially “life-threatening.” Any idea what he was referring to? Ausiello: It involves Kurt being high. No, not that kind of high. Allow Colfer to explain: “I was very high up and I did not have a harness, ” he tells me. “Looking back, I definitely should’ve been in a harness.” Whatever it is, the Emmy nominee confirms that the stunt was entirely his idea.

Question: What’s the deal with Karofsky on Glee? Are we going to be seeing more of him this season? Ausiello: I’m told Karofsky (and his portrayer Max Adler) will be practically non-existent in the first five episodes. If you find that news upsetting, don’t just sit there and scowl — do something (like vote in our poll).

Amber Riley on a change for Mercedes: “Mercedes is actually going to be shown in a different light for once. She has a relationship, and you’re going to see a softer side of her, ” Riley revealed at Fox’s fall kickoff party. “She’s very lovey-dovey. It’s kind of like, ‘Oh my God? Is this Mercedes?!’ She dresses different. She’s girlier now.”

Amber says she’s not sure whether the actor who plays her boyfriend, Lamarcus Tinker, can sing or not, so don’t expect any duets in the near future!

Tidbits:

  • Both Lea Michele and Naya Rivera have tweeted about meeting/working with Damian McGinty, the Glee Project winner set to play Rory the Irish exchange student.  Naya is shooting scenes with him today. Spoilers report that Santana is really pissed that Brittany has a new housemate should be hilarious
  • Naya Rivera recorded 2 songs this week. YAY.
  • Lea Michele tells GiveMeMyRemote that her scenes so far with Shelby (Idina Menzel) have been about mom/daughter stuff. NOT the rival Glee club Shelby is directing.  Will Rachel defect to mom’s new club? It appears that she has not yet.
