Remember that record executive from Columbia who said there wouldn’t be a Glee Christmas album this season? That wasn’t exactly true.
Despite it being still Spring 2013 in Glee land there WILL be a Christmas special, set to air on December 5 and an accompanying 6 song set, Glee The Music: The Christmas Album, Vol. 4.
How will the producers get around the time line problem? A hint is the episode title “Previously Unaired Christmas,” which indicates the action takes place in the past. Co-creator, Ryan Murphy. teased on twitter, “Who wants to see Glee’s NEVER BEFORE AIRED Xmas special? Too hot for TV.”
I’ve posted spoilers HERE. There was a big shoot at a Burbank shopping mall, where Santana (Naya Rivera), Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) were dressed as Santa’s helpers, performing “Here Comes Santa Claus.”
The EP is listed for pre-order at Wal-Mart with a track list and lead singers. There’s no Klaine duet, which is a disappointment. Strangely, one of these things is not like the others. I’m not sure I want to know why “Love Child” is on the soundtrack. For those of you unfamiliar with the Supremes classic, it’s the sad tale of a bastard child refusing to have sex with her boyfriend due to her shameful origins. It was pretty controversial stuff in 1969, but seems really melodramatic and silly now. In case you are wondering who Cody is, he’s an “extremely handsome and charming manipulator” set to appear in the episode.
