Gabby Barrett will be returning to American Idol to mentor the contestants on Sunday April 24.
Billboard reports that the country singer will work with the Top 14 contestants to help them prepare their performances.
Gabby finished 3rd on American Idol in 2018. Since then, she signed a record deal with Warner Brothers Nashville and has released several chart topping songs.
The singer’s debut single “I Hope,” featuring Charlie Puth, peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020 and spent 27 weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Her follow-up single, “The Good Ones,” was a three-week Country Airplay No. 1 in 2021 — the first time in over a decade for a solo female artist to achieve that feat.
Billboard honored Gabby with the Rising Star award on March 2, held at the Youtube Theater in Inglewood, Calif. She performed “I Hope” alongside her fellow season 16 alum and husband Cade Foehner. (Cade presented his wife with her award while delivering an interesting speech, to say the least).
Most recently, Gabby co-hosted and performed on the 2022 ACM Awards, streamed on Amazon Prime. She also performed her current single “Pick Me Up” and presented on the 2022 CMT Awards which aired on CBS.
“Pick Me Up” is one of four new tracks from the deluxe edition of her debut album, 2020’s Goldmine. This summer, she’s supporting Jason Aldean on his Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour, as well as select dates on Brooks & Dunn’s arena tour.
American Idol Top 20 2ill be revealed
In a three hour episode on Sunday April 17, The Top 20 will be revealed. The Top 24 recently performed in front of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan over two nights in episodes filmed at the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
