Gabby Barret and Cade Foehner I Hope Kelly and Ryan

American Idol 2018 alum Gabby Barrett Skyped into the Live with Kelly and Ryan show to chat and perform her country hit “I Hope” with fellow American Idol alum and husband, Cade Foehner on guitar.

In her pre-performance interview, Gabby described how she fell in love with Cade on Idol. After Kelly Ripa learned from her co-host Ryan Seacrest that he knew the two were dating and didn’t tell her, Kelly was kind of mad!

Gabby confessed that the two didn’t fall in love on the spot. “It took a little bit longer, but it definitely came with time,” she added, “It’s funny because I remember him playing on your show…he had just told Ryan that we had just started dating. And that’s so funny…now we’re married.”

Gabby also talked about being nominated for the ACM Awards Best New Artist. The event was delayed due to the coronavirus, but is now scheduled to take place in September. Even is she participates remotely, Gabi swears that she will still “dress to the nines” because it’s such a special time.

I’m really excited very very excited. Very honored,” Gabby said of the nomination. “I watched award shows growing up. So it’s just surreal,” she said.
