Former X Factor Producer Set to Helm Dancing With the Stars

Rob Wade will take over show running duties from Conrad Green for the 19th season of Dancing with the Stars, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Most recently Wade was the EP for the now cancelled FOX singing competition, the X Factor.  Prior to working for X Factor–and also America’s Got Talent, another Simon Cowell production–Wade worked as a producer on DWTS during the first four seasons and c0-executive produced with Green between seasons 5-11.

While producing X Factor and AGT, he was the Head of TV for Simon Cowell’s SyCo Entertainment North America.

“I am delighted to be rejoining the show and one of the strongest teams on network television,” said Wade. “Dancing with the Stars is in great shape and I look forward to getting back in the ballroom and working with [executive producers] Joe [Sungkur] and Ashley [Edens-Shaffer] to take it to the next level.”

Green is set to helm the upcoming FOX reality show, Utopia.

DWTS hasn’t been officially renewed by ABC, but it’s return to the network’s schedule is expected. It airs Monday nights in both the fall and spring.

ABC has been trying hard to “young up” the DWTS demo.  It’s been an uphill climb convincing young people that ballroom dancing is cool.
