Fantasia, Lea Labelle Perform on The Soul Train Award 2012 (VIDEO)

Two American Idol Season 3 alums, Lea Labelle and Fantasia Barrino, paid tribute to R&B icons on the 2012 Soul Train Awards on Sunday evening.

Leah, who was the first of the Top 12 finalists to be eliminated that 2004 season, performed “Square Biz” by the late soul chanteuse, Tina Marie, while the singer who won the season 3 competition, Fantasia Barrino,  took on the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin.

The performance was part of the opening number of the awards ceremony that took place in Las Vegas on Nov. 8, but aired on BET Sunday night (Nov. 25).  The performance also included Anthony Hamilton and Charlie Wilson.

Leah, is currently working on an album under the tutelage of  producers Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri. She was also the recipient of the Soul Train Centric award.
