Variety reports that Season 3 runner-up, Diana Degarmo has landed her first movie role. She’ll play the love interest of a young Wyatt Earp in the Indie Western, The First Ride of Wyatt Earp.
The film staring Val Kilmer in the title role, is based on a true story. The film finds “an
elderly Earp sitting down with a reporter to reflect on the ride that made him a legend, when the young marshal rounded up a posse to track down the outlaw who mistakenly murdered the woman he loved.”
Mike Feifer is directing from a script by Darren Benjamin Shepherd, and production is under way in California.
The movie also stars Daniel Booko (“Glory Daze”) as Spike Kennedy, country singer Trace Adkins as his father, Matt Dallas (“Kyle XY”) as Bat Masterson, Wilson Bethel as Doc Holliday. Shawn Roberts, Stephen Grayhm, Scott Whyte and Levi Fiehler round out the young ensemble.
Barry Barnholtz and Jeffrey Schenck are producing through their Hybrid banner, and Peter Sullivan is co-producing.
Producers envision the film as a “Young Guns for the next generation.”
