Demi Lovato celebrates gay pride with the release of her new music video for her single, “Really Don’t Care,” featuring Cher Lloyd.
The X Factor UK alum makes an appearance in the video singing a rap break, but takes a back seat to the colorful sights and sounds at the June 9 Gay Pride parade in Los Angeles, where Demi presided as Grand Marshal.
Perez Hilton, Vampire Diaries’ Kat Graham, Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker, and Demi’s sometimes-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama all pop up as surprise cameos.
In a related note, in a speech during LOGO TV’s inaugural, Trailblazers, which aired on Thursday, Demi revealed that in the 60s, her grandfather came out as gay shortly after her mother was born.
“My mom’s birth dad, actually had my mom and was with my grandma and then he split with her because he came out of the closet and that was in the ’60s. So that to me is the epitome of a trailblazer, where you set an example and you do something that is brave and courageous and I was able to talk about that in my little speech,” she said. “And that was exciting for me.”
