Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato paid tribute to Christina Grimmie and the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting Saturday July 2 during their concert at Orlando’s Amway Center. Andra Day joined the tourmates onstage for a rendition of her song “Rise Up.”
But first, the singers welcomed a man named Hank to the stage who remembered the victims with a prayer. “Orlando, you’ve been through a lot. In the last month, you’ve had two shootings, one of which was the most deadly shooting in all of America’s history. So we want to pause in the midst of this exciting night…we can to pause and say a prayer, a prayer of healing.”
Earlier in the day, according to TMZ, Demi and Nick invited the Pulse staff to the Orlando concert, where the employees were given VIP treatment.
The names and ages of the victims scrolled behind the trio as they performed. Here’s a short clip from Andra’s twitter that includes the dedication:
