The official American Idol twitter teased a “mystery guest” for this week’s Top 4 telecast. Officially, Sia and season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee are booked to perform, but who could this “mystery guest” be? By the way, “mystery guest” won the “who are you most excited to see on Idol this week” poll.
Well…could that “mystery guest” be season 7 winner David Cook? Check this out from Journal Courier.com. One of David’s band mates reveals the secret!
West-central Illinois fans of “American Idol” may recognize a familiar face during this week’s musical reality show.
Routt Catholic High School graduate Andy Wildrick will be playing bass guitar for “Idol” season 7 winner David Cook, a rock singer/songwriter who will be performing Thursday during this 15th and final season of the show.
“American Idol” airs at 7 p.m. Thursday on Fox.
Wildrick, who joined Cook’s band in October, is excited about taking to the “American Idol” stage and national TV.
Looks like BEANS SPILLED, don’t you think? Oh and THIS:
I love the fact that David could’ve used the ‘house band’ but opted to fly his band out instead. Everyone in the band works really hard for him. He took a long break after a falling out with RCA Records, but things are picking up steam again. Ticket sales went up significantly on the last tour, and some venues were moved up in size. So there’s some momentum going and we want to slay this performance on Thursday. The song we’re playing is pretty epic, anthemic and loud.”
“Secret” guests never stay secret for long… I wonder which song David and the band are performing? As an FYI, “Broken Windows” is the new single from his current album, Digital Vein. David appeared on Idol just a few weeks ago during the Top 24 semi-final to perform duets with CJ Johnson and Olivia Rox before the judges decided who to advance to the Top 14.
UPDATE: David is set to perform the Digital Vein track, “Heartbeat,” a song Idol used in early promos for the season.
American Idol airs on FOX Thursday March 24 at 8/7c PM.
