David Cook, Chris Daughtry Join The Big Slick (PHOTOS)

On Friday and Saturday (June 17 and 18) David Cook and Chris Daughtry headed to Kansas City, Missouri to take part in the “Big Slick” to benefit Children’s Mercy hospital. Eric Stonestreet, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, David Koechner and Rob Riggle hosted the event, which raised over $1.3 million dollars.

The American Idol 7 winner and season 5 alum, respectively, joined other celebrities and sports figures for a weekend full of fun charity events.  For David, it was a trip back to his hometown to lend a hand to a worthy cause.

On Friday celebrities visited kids at Mercy Hospital and took part in a softball game at Kauffman Stadium. Saturday featured a bowling tournament followed by the Victory Party & Auction which took place at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland.  Chris donated a sweet auction item–the opportunity to fly with him in a private jet to his next gig. David performed for the crowed at the gala.

Other celebrities set to participate included: James Marsden, Olivia Wilde, Bret Saberhagen, Judy Greer, Kevin Rahm, Kevin Pollak, James Van Der Beek, Aisha Tyler, George Wendt, John Hodgman, Robert Smigel, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Josh Hopkins, Neil Flynn, Will Forte, David Cook, Adam Scott, Martin Starr, Haley Joel Osment, Tom Arnold and Hilarie Burton.
