Daughtry Sophomore Effort Set for Summer 09 Release

Peeps who were expecting a spring ’09 release for the next Chris Daughtry album, are going to have to wait a little longer. According to an RCA press release, Daughtry will release its highly anticipated sophomore effort next summer:

Daughtry, bassist Josh Paul, drummer Joey Barnes and guitarists Brian Craddock and Josh Steely, are currently in the studio, recording the follow-up to the band’s debut. The as-yet-titled album is scheduled for release in summer 2009.

In a recent blog post on his official site, Chris mentions progress has been slow:

On a side note, I’ve been in and out of LA trying to finish our second album…still. We will NOT be finished for a while now, we just want to make sure it’s right! Don’t worry…you’re not gonna have to wait nearly as long as we’ve been waiting on ‘Chinese Democracy’ LOL!

So far I’m extremely proud of what we’ve done. It’s, in my opinion, the best stuff I’ve ever had a part in writing. And hopefully you’ll all feel the same:)

In the meantime, fans will have to content themselves with the videos and 4 bonus tracks from the recently released Deluxe version of the band’s multi-platinum album, Daughtry.
