  1. Can’t wait for the Fall tour. It should be fun especially since the venues and the production will be bigger.

Thanks for the NS acoustic video. I haven’t heard this version yet and I like it! Although… this is still Chris’ best acoustic jam LOL!

  2. I’m pretty much a sucker for an acoustic too, even Daughtry. :-)

    Thanks MJ!

  3. Yay, Chris! It’s about time you got your arena tour, maybe with pryo. :)

  4. Hmm, I’m not sure he’s ready for an arena tour just yet. I know after Kelly Clarkson sold 6MIL records she tried to do the arena thing and it backfired on her.

But then again, Daughtry is in a very loyal genre so it may work out. We shall see.

That’s because her management scheduled the tour before her album even released while Clive was dissing her upcoming album. But before that, she was constantly touring and I think that’s the main reason her album sold so many copies. =/

I think Daughtry can do it though since their new album is doing pretty good. Also there’s a lot of artists that do arenas.. they just don’t all sell out.

ETA: So I preordered Daughtry’s album from his site which came with a free concert ticket. I didn’t realize that the little mini tour tickets were on sale already and now it’s sold out. So now I just have a ticket for myself. How fun.

  6. I’d enjoy this song much more if it were one key lower . . . or two.

I think limiting the tour to 14 cities is a great idea. Die-hard fans will travel. If it were 30 cities, they wouldn’t fill the seats.

  7. Chris just said on Twitter that his album went Gold in Canada.

CHRIS_Daughtry We went gold in Canada!!! Thank U Canada!!!

I think that is awesome and I hope that his tour does well.

I think it might be too soon as well, but I’m prepared to be proven wrong. Even Carrie Underwood waited awhile before headlining in a VERY loyal genre. She toured extensively opening for others and later Keith Urban, which was regarded as smart by country insiders. Popularity at radio and album sales do not necessarily transfer into concert tickets. Even later, when she had her own tour, she made sure to bring out popular up and coming opening acts. Who is opening for Daughtry?

  9. I don’t think they’ll be doing big arenas….here’s a quote from a BILLBOARD INTERVIEW

“We don’t want to get too over-zealous,” frontman Chris Daughtry tells Billboard.com. “We’re not gonna be doing the Staples Center (in Los Angeles) right out the gate, obviously. We’ll be doing some small- and medium-sized arenas. We haven’t got the confirmed schedule up yet; we’re still working on that. But it’ll be a big rock show for sure.”

They have a pretty great track record when it comes to selling tickets….for most of the summer fairs they did in the past 2 years they were one of the highest (if not the hightest) selling artists at each event. I know this is for the second album but I have a feeling they’ll still do quite well….well, that’s what I’m hoping for.

ETA: And now I’ve just scrolled down to today’s headline thread and see that the quote and link are the front page….sorry!

  10. Not a fan – the acoustic is better than what is on the cd.

It doesn’t seem to be a trend for artists in this economy to do larger venues. I think most are sticking to sm to med.

  11. Can’t wait to catch one of those arena shows.

LOVE Chris acoustic. Man, he has a great voice.

  12. I’m not a fan of the song, but he sounds great here. I’m partial to acoustic performances myself. (Hate the hat though! What is it with all these young guys and their silly ski hats in July? Are they expecting an early Xmas?)

  13. hmm I love acoustics, but def like this song better on the CD. Some songs just benefit from all the “extras”.
