Danny Gokey announced his engagement to Leyicet Peralta on Christmas Eve. Now, he shares more details about the ring and his proposal with People Magazine.
“Danny originally chose a ring that was too big for Leyicet’s finger,” says Danny’s rep, “so they went on a hunt for a new one together.”
“Leyicet had a specific budget she did not want to go over. The couple know they have a lot of responsibility with Sophia’s Heart, so they wanted to make sure they spent their money wisely.”
Details on the couple’s romantic proposal: “Danny surprised Leyicet and had a car pick her up. They had an intimate dinner by the ocean under a beautiful sunset in downtown Miami.
“After dinner, they went to the ballet, and finally Danny took her where they had their first date. Danny serenaded Leyicet with a song her mother used to sing to her as a baby, ‘You Are So Beautiful,’ and then he popped the big question. She, of course, enthusiastically said yes.”
The happy couple are set to tie the know on January 29.
