People are BOOING. As they should be. I called this, didn’t I? I’m now convinced that Bristol could win the show. There are lots of different folks voting for Bristol for different reasons, but it would be foolish not to acknowledge her mother Sarah’s fan base. They have to be part of the mix. Bristol was not a celebrity before DWTS. Her dancing has been consistently dumbed down and bad. She has no performance skills or personality. I’m willing to bet there are people voting for her who don’t even watch the show.
But, as I’ve said in my Idol recaps–these competitive reality shows are VOTING shows and pretty much anything goes. If the entire US Tea Party votes Bristol in as the champ? Well, that’s the way it goes. A contestant’s dancing skill is only one component of what makes their run successful.
And considering what an easy time the judges gave Bristol all season, the plan was to keep her in as long as possible for ratings, I think. Controversies = ratings. I’m thinking the panel may finally mete out some low scores next week. In the end, I think they’d love to see Jennifer and Derek win–but we’ll see.
