Dancing With The Stars – Week 4 – VIDEO

This week: A double elimination. Plus two new dances this week–The Lindy Hop and the Argentine Tango.

Dancer Kevin Rudolph and Boys II Men perform tomorrow.

Top score of 30 goes tonight to Gilles and Cheryl for their uber-sexy Argentine Tango. They got the first perfect score of the season. But there were several other 10’s–the first of the season–given out tonight.   The first went to Lil Kim and Derek (from Bruno) and the second and third to Melissa and Tony (from Carrie Ann and Bruno).

Lowest score goes to Steve and Karina.   Some good news: their low score of 12 was 2 points higher than the dismal 10 they scored last week.   Will Woz’s peeps save him again next week?   Maybe Woz’s time is finally up. Nah.   I think Holly and Dmitry are set for elimination tomorrow.   Holly was terrible again–she was stiff and forgot her steps.   They scored 16, the third lowest score of the night. The other elimination tomorrow may be Steve-O and Lacey.   He’s pretty hopeless, and with the 2nd lowest score–15, his Jackass fans may not be able to pull him through.

Video and Live blog after the JUMP…

David and Kym – Lindy Hop – It’s all about charisma, says Kym. And crazy lifts!   Kym takes David to a Lindy club (there’s such a thing?) to learn the dance. The performance wasn’t great but it looked like a lot of fun. Len says, “It had fun, energy..not your best, but not your worst.”   “You lose the timing and the footwork, ” says Bruno.   Carrie Ann, “You were out there working it…I thought it was great.” Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 7, Bruno – 7 – 22 – 1-800-868-3411.

Lil Kim and Derek – Argentine Tango – Lil Kim’s having a hard time putting her serious on. Plus, Derek is not familiar with the Argentine Tango. Hey, the jailbird is a pretty good dancer! Nice moves. Bruno says, “That was a tail of a fatal beauty! A terrific Tango–terrific choreography.” Carrie ann says, “You are the real deal…those lines were beautiful…gorgeous.”   Len says, “I was knocked out with the choreography, but not the sensuality of the dance.” Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, Bruno – 10 (first 10 of the competition) – 27   1-800-868-3401

Chuck and Julianne – Lindy Hop – Chuck is skeered to flip over Julianne. Wuss! He won’t flip, but he will show his goofy side. It’s hard to dis a dance that’s so much fun to watch… Carrie Ann says, “I really want to see you go for it…still a little safe.” Len says, “Competent…you’ve got to come up to a slightly higher level.” Bruno says, “I like the style, it’s a bit loose around the edges…it’s all there but I have not seen it yet.” Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 7,   Bruno – 7 – 22 – 1-800-868-3406.

Lawrence and Edyta – Argentine Tango –   Lawrence is all tangled up in his steps, so Alec came in to demonstrated a few. Not sure Lawrence is capturing the spirit of the dance, but he’s getting the steps down. Pretty good! Len says, “You remembered the routine, it lacked passion…you looked uncomfortable.” Bruno says, “You portrayed danger…the performance was good.” He adds that Lawrence’s footwork needs to glide, rather than stomp.   Carrie Ann says,   “You exuded power…but the chemistry was lacking.” Carrie Ann – 7,   Len – 5, Bruno – 7 – 19   –   1-800-868-3403.

Ty and Chelsie –   Lindy Hop – Ty needs to learn how to stay on beat. Can he do it?   Ty the strong guy, will do some lifts. He’s improved so much since the Cha cha cha!   Great fun. Bruno says, “The vitality of a young stallion…you are coming on leaps and bounds.”   Carrie Ann says, “Ty Murray is a dancer!” Len says, “Ty Murray in a hurry! So beyond my expectations…overall, great.”     Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, Bruno – 8 – 25 – 1-800-868-3408

Steve and Karina – Argentine Tango – It’s Team Woz! Woz has got people. Yes he does. Horrible! He’s so wooden–he looks like he needs to take a dump.   If Steve makes it another week, I’ll LMAO.   Carrie Ann says, “Ultimate underdog…it was really long…I’m trying to find something positive to say.” Len says, “I admire you and your spirit…there is improvement from last week, well done.”   Bruno says, “This really stunk.” Carrie Ann – 4, Len – 4, Bruno – 4 – 12 – 1-800-868-3410.

Melissa and Tony – Lindy Hop -As one of three high scorers from last week, Melissa and Tony want to keep the momentum going. The routine is a little boring compared to the others we’ve seen already, but Melissa, as always, is in top form. Len says, “You have got the potential to go all the way…last lift could have been slicker.” Bruno says, “Eye popping fun…the full range of steps were covered.” Carrie Ann (high fives them first) says, “Those lifts were difficult…you guys work so well together.” Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 9, Bruno -10 – 29 (highest score so far) – 1-800-868-3413.

Holly and Dmitry – Argentine Tango – Add Holly to the list of DWTS injuries. In pain, she finally went to the doctor who told her she strained the muscles around her ribs, but she’d be OK to dance. Her performance is better than last week, but she messed up her steps in the beginning and never got back on track. Bruno says, “A bad start and it kept getting worse…he was doing all the work…drop the Barbie bring out the vixen.” Carie Ann says, “You fell off the stool in the beginning…I can see the bruises…I don’t feel like you’re building strength.”   Len says, “I can see an improvement coming on….a good effort.”   Carrie Ann – 5, Len – 6, Bruno – 5 – 16 – 1-800-868-3407.

Steve-O and Lacey – Lindy Hop – Steve-O is stressed out! So Lacey brings him…a clown costume? Gosh dang darn it what the hey…he’s here to have fun!  Well, Steve-O still kinda stinks, but yes, he does look like he’s having fun. For once. Carrie Ann says, “At least you got through your routine…you’re off on your musicality.” Len says, “You didn’t go wrong…the timing is a big issue.”   Bruno says, “This was more hopping mad than Lindy Hop…you have to listen to the music.” Carrie Ann – 5, Len – 5, Bruno – 5 – 15. 1-800-868-3404.

Gilles and Cheryl – Argentine Tango –   Gilles needs to get his actor on–he’s not connecting to the dance. He looks pretty connected to me! This is hawt, people. Fierce! As Tom says. Len says, “It was another fantastic performance…you showed every element.” Bruno says, “The quintessential Latin lover…almost deadly animal magnetism.”   Carrie Ann, catching her breath says, “I can’t tell who is the professional.” Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Bruno – 10 – 30 – (perfect score, highest so far!) – 1-800-868-3405

Shawn and Mark – Lindy Hop – Shawn’s gymnastic skills should give them an unfair advantage help kick it up a notch. Shawn takes Mark to the gym. Hijinks ensue! Flips and lifts galore! They’re both dressed in “gym clothes.” We get it! Bruno says, “A spectacular feast of tricks! But, you are a good dancer as well–do more dancing.” Carrie Ann says, “You were a bit heavy on the footwork…more light on your feet.”   Len says, “Too many tricks, more dancing needed.” Carrie Ann – 8 Len – 8 – Bruno – 9 – 25 – 1-800-868-3409.
