  1. I think the Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke pairing had the potential to be very hot and long lasting.

  2. Poor Karina.

I don’t think she’ll have a problem dealing with her partner.

  3. I hate DWTS but I just might have to record it to see how Jennifer Grey does …

  4. The ringer for me is Derek Hough and Jennifer Gray

Brandy is a singer, not a dancer, so that doesn’t equate to ringer for me.

I love Kurt Warner, but I bet he isn’t that good of a dancer, but I want him to hang around for the eye-candy part.

  5. I agree that J. Grey is as close to a ringer as you’ve got here. But since she got trained in dancing for DD back in 1986/87 and, as far as I can see, hasn’t had any music/dancing roles since, I’m thinking she’s quite a bit less of a ringer than many others we’ve had in the recent past. One dancing role 23/24 years ago isn’t all that much, to me, especially when you’re now a 50-year-old, and especially especially when that’s compared to Pussycat Dolls, various singers with very dancy videos and stage shows on their current resumes, and Kristi Y and Shawn Johnson, who, while not dancers, certainly got very very rigorously trained in dancer-type poses and toepoint and all that for years and years. I’d say this is a pretty low year for ringers, comparatively.

  6. I don’t see a true ringer, as in some seasons. Jennifer really only has genetic dance ties, not tons of experience. Brandy never struck me as a great dancer, doubt she’ll be another Mya. I’m happy for the Brandy/Maks & Rick/Cheryl pairings. My wish for first to go is still Palin/Mark or Situation/Karina – least favorite stars & male pro.

  7. They messed up by not pairing Maks with Audrina. That would have been a pretty sight and created their season staple of a perceived (if not justified) romance!

Didn’t Brandy kill someone in her car? I wonder if that skeleton will make her somewhat polarizing. All the “stuff” seems to work it’s way out into the public eye.

  8. Jennifer Gray is in her late 40’s, isn’t she? I don’t see her as much of a ringer at this point even with dance experience. Still, I am waiting for the day when Derek gets a dud partner and has to work a little harder. They seem to favor him.

Poor Karina? Oh no, poor Situation. Karina will scare the crap out of him if he starts an ego trip or doesn’t work hard.

  9. I don’t think Jennifer is a ringer, but i do think she will do well. I think the three to watch are Jennifer, Brandy, and Rick. I feel for the Ballas dudes. I might actually watch this show this season.

Jennifer Gray is in her late 40’s, isn’t she?

Jennifer herself said at the announcement on Monday that she’s 50.

  11. Bristol Palin? Ugh, just ugh. She’s already started making this into a morality play with comments about how she will dance with modest costumes.

  12. Who on earth is Kyle Massey? The name doesn’t even ring a bell. I google imaged him and he looked young.

ETA: A Disney star? Oy. he’s not even one I’ve ever heard of.

  13. Jennifer Gray is in her late 40’s, isn’t she? I don’t see her as much of a ringer at this point even with dance experience. Still, I am waiting for the day when Derek gets a dud partner and has to work a little harder. They seem to favor him.

    Bingo !!
I want to see proof that he is a good teacher by having a challenged
    student.

I’ll DVR everything and see all the dances in 10 minutes, I don’t see Julianne Hough or Dmitry Chaplin on the list. And yes, lately, I favor the dancers more than the so called “stars”.

  14. I’m glad Cheryl Burke got someone good. But still, overall it sounds like such a boring season. I read that Edyta quit. They never gave her anyone good as a partner. I am really bummed that she’s gone.

  15. Bingo !!
I want to see proof that he is a good teacher by having a challenged
    student.

Jennie Garth seemed like a bit of a challenge. And I don’t remember being blown away by Shannon.

  16. Aside from Mr Las Vegas , Cheryl always got good and potential partner. This season also no exception. If Rick can even dance a little, they will at least in top 5.

So does Derek. Since he competing, the lowest he ever rank with his partner is no 6 with Shannon. Jennifer Grey is his first cougar lady celeb though. :D

Mark Ballas again will drop out quickly. He usually didnot do very good with celeb who cannot dance. And why they always gave Corky the oldest celeb in town?

Look like Maks will reach the final 3 again with Brandy this time.

Poor Lacey and Karina. They didnot had a chance this time except if their celebs can dance real well which I doubt.

Hoping Toni will get much better partner this time after the disaster with Kate. Ugh.

And looks like we have to wait along time before Julianne back partnering in DWTS.

  17. @astrid, it not true that Edyta never got good celeb. But from 10 seasons, they only gave her two good celebs to partner with. Joey Lawrence and Jason. (NFL) Other time, she got lousy partners.

Look like after Edyta out, Karina and Lacey will got her share of lousy partners.

Anna also always got partner who usually cannot dance. Evan from last season is the exception. But she usually got some wellknown celebs so they can hang on for few episodes.

  18. No Edyta this year- that’s sad. But she’s a bad choreographer, so that’s a big part of why she never won.
I don’t see ringers this year, unless Brandy is a better dancer than I think she’s going to be.
I hope for Tony’s sake, Audrina can dance. At least he got someone who is not ancient.
And no Jonathan Roberts again this season. I guess he couldn’t take the inevitability of being given Florence Henderson, so Corky gets a call back.

  19. Yay Lacey Schwimmer is back!

That was a nice surprise, even though I don’t think I know her partner. Also, Chelsie Hightower knows how to bring out the best in an older man. Lucky, Michael!

I don’t see Julianne Hough or Dmitry Chaplin on the list.

Oh, no – no Dmitry again! I guess runner-up status didn’t get him much favor with the show. We did see a lot of him last season as a guest dancer. Now, if he has a terrific job and is happy, I will be happy.

As far as Jennifer goes, she is a slight ringer in the fact that there was a certain amount of grace required in the dances in DD. And I know she did not forget how to do the Cha-Cha. Once you learn to dance like that (God bless, Patrick) you don’t forget. I mean, a person may be rusty, but it will come back.
