Dancing with the Stars Has Reached Out to Sean Spicer (Report)

Page Six is reporting that former White House press secretary, Sean “Spicey” Spicer is being seriously courted by ABC to appear on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

About the rumor, the Page Six source said “That has legs.” OK then.

Page Six also reports that “Spicey” spent Wednesday in New York City “in talks with major broadcasters about a new career in TV where he can share his insider knowledge of President Trump.”

As most of you know, the embattled Press Secretary quit his job after Trump hired Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci to lead the press office. Apparently, the Republican establishment side of the administration, particularly Reince Priebus and his pal Spicey, have some bad blood with the former wall street hedge fund owner.

But that’s neither here nor there! One thing that attracts “stars” to DWTS is for the chance to rehabilitate. In Spicey’s case, the only reason I could imagine him taking on the challenge would be to change his image. But unless he’s got some hidden talent, DWTS could make him seem like an even bigger joke.

His bumbling appearance at press briefings led to SNL pretty savagely (and hilariously) mocking him in skits. If Spicey does DWTS, it would give Melissa McCarthy a reason to reprise her brilliant impression. For that reason? I’m all for it.

However, if I had to guess, ABC is reaching out. They love controversial contestants. But, Spicey will say no. If Page Six sources are correct, the former White House employee “was seen coming out of high-level meetings at ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News in Manhattan.” and “some news execs ‘made the full-court press’ as they competed to woo the high-profile spokesman.” He’ll be too busy spinning explaining the Trump agenda on news shows to lace up those dancing shoes.

But who knows. We live in crazy, crazy times, to say the least. Consider that current energy secretary and former Texas governor Rick Perry appeared on the show last year after  losing to Trump in the GOP primary. He was the second contestant voted off.

Additionally, former Republican House Majority Leader, Tom Delay, appeared on DWTS in 2009.
