Dancing With The Stars 12 – Week 5 – VIDEO

Hines and Kym top the leaderboard this week with 27 points. I dunno–a good routine, but…overscored much?  The judges LOVE Hines, I’m not quite as enthusiastic as they are.

My favorite performance tonight was Romeo and Chelsie’s elegant yet swagger-fied foxtrot.  BUT MAYBE THAT’S JUST ME.

Romeo and Chelsie, Chris and Cheryl and Chelsea and Mark are in a 3-way tie for second place, with 26 points apiece.

Rounding out the bottom with 22 points are Ralph and Karina, Petra and Dmitry and Kendra and Louis.  Either Kendra or Petra will head out the door tomorrow (So hoping it’s Kendra)…

Kirstie and Maks managed to keep everything intact this week (well…except Maks‘ shirt, but I ain’t complaining), scoring 23 point.

Live blog and videos after the JUMP…

Live blogging Dancing with the Stars week 5!

It’s American week on DWTS! Plus, the show celebrates the show’s 1000th dance.

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff – Samba – “Sweet Home Alabama” – Nice cowboy hats, pardners. I agree with Len and Bruno–he could have wiggled those hips a little more, but Carrie Ann is right, it was entertaining. Len: It wasn’t terrible, but you’re not consistent. Lack of hip action. You’ve got to work on more rhythms, Bruno: It needs fire down below man, you do a character very well, but give me sex, man. (Erm…) Carrie Ann – He nailed it! I think that was a great entertaining performance. Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 7, Bruno 7 – 221-800-868-3408 – VIDEO

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke – Viennese Waltz – “America the Beautiful” – Chris really really wants an 8 from Len. This is very nice, graceful and smooth. Bruno: Big yet graceful, strong, elegant, absolutely wonderful Carrie Ann: I feel like we’ve underestimated you. You are a contender. Len: It’s American week and it’s so nice to see Cheryl showing off the rocky mountains. (lol). It was a little bit flat footed. I’d like to see you work on the footwork. You’ll get an 8 when you deserve an 8! – Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 8 Bruno – 9 – 26 – 1-800-868-3409 – VIDEO

Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin – Quickstep – “Viva Las Vegas” – Eh. Petra is having trouble keeping up. She’s clunky. Carrie Ann – Carrie Ann – Tonight you took a step back, you had a few stumbles. Out of sync. Len: I think you coped well with the speed and the music. Lovely neck–refine the dance. Bruno: I disagree. You were like the golden goddess. You have lines…the handling is sometimes a bit dodgy, but the quality is quite good. – Carrie Ann – 7 Len – 7 Bruno – 8 – 221-800-868-3404 – VIDEO

Romeo and Chelsie Hightower – Foxtrot – “New York New York” – Some very fancy footwork from Romeo! He didn’t learn to dance from his dad… Len: The parts in hold had control, flair. You’re on the right road. Bruno: You did have swagger! I never seen a foxtrot so cheeky. you maintained the style of the dance. Carrie Ann: That was so cool and so sophisticated. You have your own style. Romeo dedicates the dance to a friend in the hospital with a cancer diagnosis. Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, Bruno – 9 – 261-800-868-3405 – VIDEO

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson – Rumba – “Proud to be an American” – Hines looks like a super-dork in that “uniform”. He doesn’t look altogether comfortable performing the rumba – Ease of move, musicality and just the right amount of sensuality. Hines, you make it look so easy. Best hip action I’ve seen in a long time. Very romantic. Len: I wouldn’t go that far. It’s not false, it’s got an ease and an elegance. Charming. Your best dance. Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 271-800-868-3403 – VIDEO

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Foxtrot – “American Woman” – Kirstie invites her fellow clam friend John Travolta to help out.  SHIRTLESS MAKS.  What the hell is Kirstie wearing? Yikes. Kirstie manages to stay intact this week. Carrie Ann: That was a different take on a foxtrot. It was a little borderline crazy, but it suited you. Magical. Best dance ever. Len: It had attitude, lots of basic steps. It wasn’t my cup of tea. There was very little excellence. Bruno: I didn’t know you were so dirty. (Is Bruno flirting with Maks?) Carrie Ann – 8 Len – 7  Bruno 8 – 231-800-868-3411 – VIDEO

Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel – Foxtrot – “Yankee Doodle” – Kendra is sooooo offended by Carrie Ann. CHILL OUT KENDRA. So defensive. Kendra and Louis perform the landmark 1000th dance. It’s much better than last week. Bruno: Sweet as apple pie, much more in character. I can still see your thought, you have to stop that. Carrie Ann: This is the most confident I’ve seen you. Hm. If you call stomping around like a robot “good dancing” well alrighty then. Carrie Ann – 8 – Len – 7 Bruno – 7 – 221-800-868-3407 – VIDEO

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas – Samba – “Party in the USA” – Another well danced routine from Chelsea and Mark. Bruno: Go for it positive energy of America and the sizzle–your placement is so clean, a really good dancer. Carrie Ann – You match your moves perfectly. Fantastic. Len: Yum yum what a bum. This was real good fun. Well done. Carrie Ann – 9 Len -8 Bruno – 9 – 261-800-868-3401 – VIDEO
