Dancing With The Stars 12 – Week 6 – VIDEO

More mishaps on the dance floor! Karina slipped on Ralph’s long cassock coat during their paso doble–they recovered, but it was obvious they were both rattled. Still, they got a 24, which is solid.

At the beginning of the season, I thought Ralph would win, but now I think it’s either Hines, who’s got killer moves and a killer smile, or maybe Romeo whose got some pretty smooth moves. Chelsea is the best dancer left, but I don’t get the sense that she’s as popular as the others I named.

Romeo and Chelsie tie with Chelsea and Mark at 28 points to top the leader board. Chris and Cheryl sit at the bottom with 22. I think Chris may be heading out the door tomorrow.

How cool was Hanson? They’ll be back tomorrow with Constantine Maroulis and the Rock of Ages cast for the first hour of the results show. (Yep. Results show tomorrow is TWO HOURS. The better to compete against 90-gleeking-minutes and The Voice! Two programs I’d rather watch, if I had my druthers. Dang Idol guests.) Pia Toscano and Backstreet Boys/New Kids appear in the second hour.

It’s GUILTY PLEASURES week on Dancing with the Stars. And how better to open the show than with Hanson singing that bit of irresistible 90’s pop, “MmmBop”! – VIDEO

Awesome. The boys will be back tomorrow  to perform their new single.

Hanson, tonight’s “House band” sings “Hello” as we come back from break.

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Samba – “Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears – Kirstie is pretty good at these Latin dances. This is her best performance since her cha cha cha back in week 1. Len: You never fulfilled the potential I saw week 1 until tonight. Great job. Bruno: You delivered the smoothest Brazilian north of Rio. It’s hard to make this dance look easy. Your wiggle bum spent shockwaves through the air waves. Cheryl:  Like Britney, you’re back. I want to see you in the finals. Carrie Ann -8, Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 261-800-868-3411VIDEO

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke – Tango – “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey – Oh. He sings lead in a rock band. No wonder he loves James Durbin so much. Chris is a little stiff, but he’s got the steps down. He should smile more! Bruno: You turned into a lump of granite. You lost timing so many times. Tonight it didn’t happen for you. Cheryl: The pressure got to you this week. It was technically sound, but it wasn’t fun. Len: You had good posture, hold, good footwork. It lacked intensity. Overall, I thought you did an excellent job. Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 8, Bruno – 7 – 221-800-868-3409VIDEO

Back from break – Hanson sings “Achy Breaky Heart”!

Romeo and Chelsie Hightower – Waltz – “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion – Romeo is a hopeless romantic. He loved “Titanic”. Very very nice–sweeping and romantic waltz from Romeo! The kiss was not planned. They should get good scores. Carrie Ann: That was magical. You’re developing your own unique style. I get completely transported. Len: For a young man, you dance with great maturity. Romance, touching, poignant. Well done. Bruno: Your ship will sail on and on and on. Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 9, Bruno – 9 – 28 (First 10 of the season) 1-800-868-3405VIDEO

Hanson: “Ice Ice Baby” Hee.

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas – Quickstep – “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves – Chelsea was a cheerleader! And she’s probably had dance lessons too. Len will probably hate the props and the costumes, but the routine, is fun, energetic and well danced. Len: You managed to fuse high energy with control. Full on and great fun. Bruno: So much zest. (he notes a minor mistake here) Cheryl: Magic happens twice. That was a difficult routine. Chelsea, way to go. Mark twisted his ankle in rehearsal today. YIKES – VIDEO. Carrie Ann – 10 Len – 9 – Bruno – 9 – 281-800-868-3401VIDEO

Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel – Samba – “La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin – I hate to say it, because Kendra gets on my last freaking nerve and I find her personality really annoying…but she holding her own this week. For the first time she looks comfortable up there, rather than stiff and self-conscious. Maybe because the samba can employ her stripper moves. Heh. Carrie Ann: That was a guilty pleasure. You have proven that you can be a contender. Len: The more you gyrated, the more I palpitated. Well done. Bruno: The revenge of the stripper! The attack of the killer boobs! OMG. Bruno was in Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” video! I had no idea! Hilarious. Now we gotta see some Flygirl! Heh. Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 8, Bruno – 9 – 251-800-868-3407VIDEO

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson – Viennese Waltz – “End of the Road” by Boys II Men – Hines knows how to perform to the audience, he’s really pleasant to watch, even if his steps aren’t perfect. Len: You’re becoming the MVP. Musicality, lyrical. You’re flatfooted, unfortunately, but your performance is second to none. Bruno: As a performer, it’s pure pleasure. Good chemistry with Kym. Cheryl: At the beginning, you looked like you were thinking about the dance, rather than letting it flow. Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 271-800-868-3403VIDEO

MORE HANSON “Come on Feel the Noise” by Quiet Riot!

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff – Paso Doble – “Everybody Dance” Incorporating “Wax on Wax Off” into the dance. Aw…Karina tripped. No high scores for these two–they’re all thrown off now. Too bad. Bruno: I started to feel the fire. I’m very encouraged by it. Carrie Ann: That was a tough one. The way you got back up put the rest of the dance to shame. Len: I’m going to congratulate you. You pulled Karina up, you got back into the dance well done. There’s a playback–looks like Karina slipped on Ralph’s coat.  Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 8, Bruno – 24 – Karina thanks Ralph for bringing her back into the dance. – 1-800-868-3408VIDEO Recap of the mishap – VIDEO
