Crystal Bowersox Mounts Trauma Queen, Deeply Personal Rock Concert

Crystal Bowersox Trauma Queen

American Idol season 9 runner-up Crystal Bowersox is embarking on a brand new project. Trauma Queen: The True Life Story of Idol Underdog Crystal Bowersox is a theatrical autobiographical rock concert that tells her deeply personal life story of finding her power as woman, artist, and mother.

“Through immense challenges and triumph her journey opens a conversation for audiences to explore pain and healing through music and heart,” says a press release. “A mix of rock, country, and folk music combined with conversation and scenes from Crystal’s past; this is a one of a kind event that shows us some heroes survive a dark past to grow into a brighter tomorrow.”

Trauma Queen tells of Crystal’s early life in NW Ohio. We follow her through Chicago, behind the scenes of American Idol, and beyond. Trauma Queen shines a spotlight on the generational cycle of dysfunction, the power we have to break that cycle, and the choice we have to mend it

Trauma Queen will feature Crystal’s most well known, fan favorite songs, such as “Farmer’s Daughter” and “Holy Toledo,” while she reveals the deeply personal details behind the writing of each one. The show will also feature and introduce many never before performed songs that tell her unique story of triumph over trauma and personal tragedies.

Developed and produced by Studio Tenn. Script by Crystal Bowersox and two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Willy Holtzman. Lyrics and music by Crystal Bowersox and #1 hit songwriter, Marty Dodson. Featuring Kelsey Parker a “Young Crystal.”

The one night only production takes place at the Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee on Saturday October 26. Buy your tickets HERE
