Spring has sprung…a slew of albums from Idol alums! Besides the major label releases from Carrie Underwood (May 1), Adam Lambert (May 15), Kris Allen (May 22) and Haley Reinhart (May 22), we’ve got some upcoming independent releases to call to your attention.

Season 9 runner-up, Crystal Bowersox has recorded an EP of tunes she wrote before American Idol. The six song set, Once upon a Time, recorded with guitarist Frankie May will be available on May 29.
Not seeing a release date for Season 8 alum, Danny Gokey’s, 7 song EP, Love Again, but you can listen to snips right now at CD Baby. The CD is eclectic, featuring a mix of music styles Danny has been calling “experimental.” Several musicians who have been with Carrie Underwood’s touring band worked on Danny’s EP project, plus, some folks who have toured with Danny, and most recently–Scotty McCreery.
It’s been months in the making, but Megan Joy has finally released her self-titled debut album through the Kickstarter fundraising program! Listen to snips of Megan Joy, and if you like BUY at Megan’s Bandcamp page. Eventually, the album will be available on iTunes.
