Critics Choice Television Awards 2014 – List of Nominees

Yesterday, the Television Critics Association announced the nominees for their annual TV awards show. Today, it’s the Broadcast Television Journalists association.  Considering that many of the same professionals are represented by both groups, the nominees are similar.

For instance, American Idol was again shut out of the the Best Reality category. Even Ryan Seacrest was snubbed (although that chucklehead Carson Daly was nominated).  With the failure of the latest Idol reboot, the once mighty series is a shell of itself these days. I understand why it hasn’t been nominated in the last few years. But to diss Seacrest? C’mon. The man is still the gold standard of hosts.

Unlike the TCA Awards, this event will be broadcast live on the CW Thursday June 19, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer.  Check out the list of nominations below.  FX, followed by HBO, leads the nominations.
