  1. Cassadee is opening for Dierks Bentley at 3 shows this weekend in North Dakota. At first, I couldn’t figure out how a low population state like ND could support that. Then I realized–fracking $$

  2. A sold out acoustic show that was a benefit for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. I’d say that it is great to see them doing these events to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

  3. This is for Sunday: Taylor Hicks is singing the national anthem at the Saints game this Sunday and being interviewed in the pre-game show.

  4. No one is impugning the worthiness of the cause. The name of the venue just tickles the funny bone. I’m sure even the artists giggle a little bit!

  5. Whatever happened to that CD that Taylor was recording? He also hinted that he had a label.

  6. He and album producer Mickey Jack Cones were passionately RT-ing each other’s promo for various projects as recently as last week, so either they’re devoted BFFs or the album is still a thing.

We’re down to the last few days for releasing a fall single that has a real chance at radio, but I’m not sure radio would be part of a Hicks launch strategy. Personally, I’d look for “lifestyle” placements with him rather than tackling any radio format. If that’s the game plan, the time table is more flexible, and I’m not even really sure what it depends on.

  7. Phillip Phillips ? @Phillips
Such an awesome show Missoula! Thank you! Photo by @Jkyledunn pic.twitter.com/AmKvmJLsZC

  8. I always enjoy P2’s concert pictures – his fans do a great job of taking them and he picks excellent ones.

  9. lol. I was about to ask the same thing. Looks like a school assembly or something. What gives?

  10. Yeah, I think mid-October is really the cutoff date for sending new singles to radio, unless you are an artist who is guaranteed to get played right away. The formats will be switching over to holiday music soon, and it seems like PDs do not like adding new singles to the rotation this late in the year unless they know it’s an artist that will get people to tune in. Better to wait until after the New Year, otherwise. But if he has a single ready to go, he could still release it to iTunes and try to capitalize on those holiday sales and build some word of mouth for it.

  12. From reports from sound check, it looks like Andrew isn’t there tonight, so maybe just a trio?

Kris was fooling around on the drums during soundcheck, but I doubt he’ll be playing that instrument tonight :)
