Chord Overstreet, dedicated an original song to Cory Monteith, a week after his friend and fellow Glee star was found dead of a heroin and alcohol overdose in a Vancouver hotel room.
Glee pals, Kevin McHale, Tina Ushkowitz and Dianna Agron were in the audience as Chord performed the song, Saturday afternoon in an hour long concert at The Roxy on The Sunset Strip.
“I sang this with Kevin McHale and Cory Monteith. I love you buddy,” Chord said as he introduced a cover of the song “Billionaire.” He also tweeted a tribute, “This is for you Cory! I love you buddy!”
“He was the greatest dude you’d ever met,” Chord told E News after the concert, “Never met anyone who said anything bad about him.”
Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, will memorialize Cory and Finn, the character he played on the show, during the third episode of the season. You can read more about how Glee will proceed in the wake of Cory’s death at this link.
