  1. This is probably from a press release from the label that Shirley got the 1st look at so the debut album in the spring would be straight from the label. For once that would be the label saying an album will be out EARLIER than the artist! I’m surprised because we know Casey’s still writing as of this week.

They’ve got to get the rollout going soon then if that’s what they’re planning, especially in terms of a single and getting Casey out there promoting to radio.

Good opportunity for Casey, I hope he makes the most of it.

EDIT: Caveat. The press release from the label does NOT say Casey’s debut album is expected in the spring. It just says later this year. Shirley Halperin’s getting that from somewhere else or assuming it. IMO it’ll be later.

  2. Hehe, hits the “rode”, huh?

I’m glad to see that BNA has Casey hitting the ground running. All this buildup is making me really intrigued about what the album will sound like, which I’m sure is the point. Can’t wait for the spring!

  3. Sounds like the ball is starting to roll. I am so anticipating hearing the single! Casey sounds pretty excited. Great news!

  4. I can’t wait to get back out there and share new music with the fans.”

Shirley gets a lot of scoops, seems like. That’s cool. I don’t know from Sugarland, don’t want to – I’m focusing on “new music” and ignoring any possibility that it may be all country, until and unless I hear the songs myself, and that’s what they are.

Meanwhile – good fortune to Casey!

  5. oh how i wish i could attend one of those shows. too far away from me. but maybe if he does well they will extend his invitation. i adore him and i’m so pleased that his label and/or management seems to be proceeding so thoughtfully. Casey, come visit here in the Northeast! it’s been a looong winter!

  6. I hope Casey continues to tour with Sugarland, because they’re one of the hottest groups these days. This is an awesome opportunity for him.

  7. YAY! It is starting and I am so excited. Check out CASEYMANIA blog site as the owner is going to show and will be tweeting and providing pix and vids.

  8. I hope these are partial dates only for CJB. I’m pretty sure a lot of fans are eager to see him, if only the venue’s at least 3-hour drive from them.

    Things are definitely rolling, baby!

  9. Does anyone know the twitter name of the CaseyMania blogger? I’d like to follow her. Thanks!

  10. yay Casey! This is a great thing for him,but not for me LOL- too bad there’s not a show in my city.

  11. I feel like I’m coming out of a long, long, long drought. No watching new vids of Mr. James rocking out on tour for MONTHS. And now I only have to wait a few weeks and he’ll be back.

Just wish he was coming to my neck of the woods. Vids are great to watch Casey do his magic, but in person? A whole ‘nother thing.

But heck. I’m happy with vids until his band visits my town.

  12. does anyone know if Casey will be the only opener for these tour dates, or will there be others?

  13. does anyone know if Casey will be the only opener for these tour dates, or will there be others?

I believe Little Big Town is also opening. Not sure how many of the dates coincide, but they were listed on that announcement last week.

  14. From the press release I read, it seems to be a straight continuation of the 2010 Incredible Machine Tour with some changes in the opening acts. Little Big Town is the second opener, if I understood correctly that is through all of the ~60 dates Sugarland has scheduled, vs. last year when Jake Owen, Luke Bryan, Julianne ( ), and eventually LBT all had that spot.

There are two other first openers whose names were announced before Casey, and may be more who have not been named yet.

If it follows the schedule last year, Sugarland did about an 80-minute set, the middle act was around 40(ish), and the first opener had a ~20-minute set. For Danny, that worked out as five songs.

  15. does anyone know if Casey will be the only opener for these tour dates, or will there be others?

If my recollection is right, the other two openers are solo acts – Matt Nathanson (I know his song Car Crash) and Sarah Bareilles (not so familiar with her). I’ve just read the same Casey James-Sugarland article from different sources that my brain involuntarily stored other names :)

Long drought is an apt description! ITA and can hardly wait for some CASEY music live! A whole ‘nother thing in peson is right.

From what I have read, Casey is scheduled for 8 shows and will open with 5-6 songs and will be followed by LBT.

  17. I’ve been told, he will do about 5 or 6 songs, since he is the first opening act, followed by Little Big Town, and then Sugarland!

The owner of this site is going to the show in Little Rock and has contacted radio stations. Check out the site and read the response she received back! YAY! This blogger is in touch with James family and her information is usually spot on. She will twitter and get pix and photos from show. Live Cast possible as well.

  18. Is Casey the first S9 contestant that will be out touring officially? Pretty crazy that he doesn’t even have a single out yet, there will properly be a lot of work in the next month or so. But really good news for Casey, I think it is a good idea to get him out to the audience as quickly as possible. :-)

  19. This is so exciting that Casey will be out touring with this band!
It sure has been a drought (as one poster said) and his fans are going crazy waiting to see him! I wish I could make one of these shows, but at least I can follow CaseyMania’s blog to see him for now, until I am able to see him in person! :)
