The inaugural American Country Countdown Awards aired on FOX Monday night. The awards were determined, based on a long running radio countdown show “American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks,” which airs on Cumulus radio stations across the country.
Carrie Underwood kicked off the show with a mega-medley of her greatest hits. Fitting, as the American Idol season 4 winner is currently out promoting her Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album.
Reba McEntire was on hand to receive the Very! First! Ever! Nash Award! At the very least, the award gave Reba’s daughter-in-law, Kelly Clarkson an excuse to join forces with Female Vocalist of the Year, Miranda Lambert. The Kelly and Miranda were TERRIFIC as they paid tribute to Reba with her songs. Eventually Reba joined the duo to perform one of her best loved hits, “Fancy.”
By the way, Miranda’s husband, Blake Shelton, couldn’t be by his wife’s side, as duty called over at NBC at The Voice finale!
And as a super-special bonus: Check out Scotty McCreery and Maddie and Tae as they hand out the award for Group/Duo of the year. Guess who won! Yep. Pull up that truck! Break out some beers!
Carrie Underwood IS GLOWING Y’ALL.
