Britney Spears and Sam Asghari reportedly split over cheating accusations
Uh oh. Rumor has it that Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari have separated after 14 months of marriage.
TMZ was the first to report the split. According to the outlet’s sources, the two separated after a “nuclear argument” that involved allegations of cheating.
Sources from TMZ say that about a week ago, Sam confronted Britney over rumors she stepped out on him. TMZ could not corroborate whether Britney actually cheated or not. But Sam believed it and the two had an argument.
Sam has moved out of their house and is now living in a place of his own. One TMZ source put it, “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.” Reports say Sam was “over” Britney’s erratic behavior and was “frustrated” and at “wits end.”
According to TMZ sources, Britney has a prenup which protects her assets, but the insider says that the likely end to the marriage will be a check from Britney to Sam that will settle things, at least financially.
People magazine sources report, “It’s been very toxic between them for a long time.” Another sources says, “Their marriage has been on the rocks for months. There has been constant drama. It’s sad. A divorce would be devastating for Britney.”
The couple tied the knot in June 2022
The couple began dating in late 2016 and said tied the knot in June 2022 shortly after the pop star’s restrictive conservatorship, managed by her father, ended after a protracted legal battle.
After Sam proposed to Britney in September 2021, they tied the knot on June 9, 2022 in a Los Angeles ceremony that had a star-studded guest list, including Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Paris Hilton and Selena Gomez.
Sam was by Britney’s side during her legal battles. After her conservatorship ended in 2018 he told People:
“I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves,” he said. “I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together.”
