Little Mix won their 1st BRIT Award tonight. One Direction won their 7th BRIT award.
Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis (hosts of the X Factor and The Voice UK) joined forces tonight and hosted Brit Awards 2017 in the absence of the initially announced host Michael Buble.
The Winner’s List
As you can see below, David Bowie was honored for one last time with ‘Best Male Solo Artist’ and ‘British Album Of The Year’ awards. Adele was handed the ‘Global Success’ award. Rag’B’Bone Man won two awards for new artists – Critics’ Choice and British Breakthrough Act. Robbie Williams got the ‘BRITs Icon’ award.
Little Mix opened the show with a big performance of “Shout Out To My Ex”. Then they lost the ‘British Group’ award to The 1975. Luckily for them, the BRITs Academy decided that their single “Shout Out To My Ex” deserved the ‘British Single’ award.
X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger presented ‘British Artist Video of the Year’ award to One Direction’s Liam Payne. The final 5 nominees in this category were Coldplay and X Factor’s One Direction, Little Mix, ZAYN and James Arthur. Of course, Directioners had this award on lock for One Direction since the first round of voting, when there were 10 videos in the running. This is One Direction’s 7th Brit Award and their 4th Brit Award for Best British Video (They’ve won it every year since 2014 – that’s 4 years in a row.)

Check out the performances below. I will add them as I find them online. GIFs from the show can be found here.
Noteworthy: Little Mix opened the show with “Shout Out To My Ex”. Bruno Mars performed his new single, but it didn’t leave much of a mark. The 1975 performed a song from their sophomore album and their performance was interrupted several times by nasty critiques of their music. Emeli Sande delivered great vocals and Skepta rapped. Katy Perry performed her new single “Chained To The Rhythm” and had two skeletons that represented Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May on stage. Coldplay’s Chris Martin honored George Michael with a great performance of “A Different Corner”. Coldplay and The Chainsmokers also premiered their collaboration “Something Just Like This”, which is now available on all digital platforms. Ed Sheeran performed both “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape Of You” with rapper Stormzy. Robbie Williams closed the show with a medley of singles from his last album “Heavy Entertainment Show”.
