Watch Blake Shelton and cast member, Cecily Strong, promote this week’s Saturday Night Live in a new batch of promos. The Voice coach will serve as host AND musical guest this week.
In the first bit, Cecily announces that Blake would be the entire cast while the rest of them head off on vacation.
In another, she asks Blake if his rivalry with fellow The Voice coach, Adam Levine is real. “It’s so real!,” exclaims Blake. That guy is SUCH a punk.” Blake turns to the camera with a message for his frenemy. “HEY ADAM! Look who’s hosting SNL now pretty boy! You silly mother…” When Cecily reminds him that he can’t curse on the show, Blake says, “Well, I’m done then.” Cecily adds, “And ME TOO, Levine.”
The pair also makes fun of the “big red chairs.” Cecily sits off to the side with her back turned to Blake as he tries out a “funny voice.” She suddenly swivels, yelling, “YOU DID IT! You can be on my team Blake, I think I can make you a star!”
“OMG! And I have such a heartwarming story TOO!” snarks Blake. “A lot of tragedy and perseverance!” Ha.
