Blake Shelton On the Haters: They Can Kiss My Ass Now

Sixteen year old Danielle Bradbery is the first The Voice winner to not have prior ties to the music industry, a fact that her coach, 3-peat winner, Blake Shelton is really proud of.

Haterz? To the left. You can kiss Blake’s ass, he told reporters last night after the competition.

“Danielle Bradbery gave us the opportunity to actually discover a true superstar right here on this show,” he told reporters Tuesdays. “We found somebody on The Voice.”

“I love the fact that The Voice got some criticism in the past for bringing in artists that have had record deals and have been on tour and they’re professionals. They can kiss our a– now,” Shelton said. “The biggest audience she ever had was at Thanksgiving dinner before this competition. We found somebody on this show… and we saw her grow and we saw her become a star before our very eyes.”

Javier Colon had a record deal with Capitol Records and released two unsuccessful albums before winning Season 1. He was subsequently dropped by Universal after 1 poorly-selling album. Season 2’s Jermaine Paul sang back-up for Alicia Keys, and had been nominated for a Grammy. He’s yet to release a full-length album. And last season’s winner, Cassadee Pope was the lead singer of the pop rock band Hey Monday, which released a studio album and had a strong indie following. Cassadee is now a country singer and has released her first single, “Wasting All These Tears.” She’s got plenty of country radio adds, but will the stations put her in heavy rotation?

We’ll see if The Voice can finally strike gold with young Danielle.
