Billboard Update 6/16/07

Here is this week’s Idol Billboard Update.

Highlights:

  • Jordin Sparks’ and Blake Lewis’ EPs drop quite a bit on the Billboard Comprehensive Chart  this week–from #22 to #45 for Jordin and #30 to #49 for Blake. Their sales numbers dropped 52% and 41% respectively.
  • Blake Lewis’ “You Give Love a Bad Name” pulls ahead of Jordin Sparks’ “This is My Now” on the Billboard Hot 100.   They sit at #21 and #25 on the chart this week.   Last week, Jordin was number #15 and Blake #18.
  • Fantasia continues to make gains on the charts.   Her album “Fantasia” climbs from #85 to #65 on The Billboard 200.   Her single “When I See U” climbs from #59 to #55 on the Hot 100, #32 to #25 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, #5 to #4 on the R&B/Hip Hop charts and #8 to #7 on the Hot Adult R&B Airplay chart.   She’ll perform songs from her Broadway hit “A Color Purple” on the 61st Annual Tony Awards  tonight on CBS.
  • Daughtry’s “Home” reaches the #1 position on the Hot Adult Top 40 chart.
  • Bucky Covington’s single “A Different World” has reached #15 on the Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart.   He, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler,  Josh Gracin, and Carmen Rasmusen all appeared at this year’s CMA Music Festival  in Nashville this week.
