Here is this week’s American Idol Billboard Update. Play along, kids!
The Highlights:
- DAUGHTRY climbs back to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. The single “It’s Not Over” continues to hold the #1 spot on the Adult Top 40 chart. The Official Idol Boot song, “Home” makes it’s first appearance–it’s #83 on the Hot 100 chart, #65 on the Pop 100 chart and #62 on the Hot Digital Songs chart. Also, congratulations to Chris, his album was recently certified double platinum by the RIAA. DAUGHTRY has sold 1, 801, 711 to date.
- Jennifer Hudson’s “Dreamgirls” gets a nice bounce on the Billboard 200, up from #16 last week to #8 this week.
- Similarly, Taylor Hicks’ album climbed from #138 to #109 this week, due to an appearance on The Dr. Phil show. Also, Kellie Pickler’s appearance on American Idol last week gave her CD a nice bounce–from #100 to #66.
- Elliott Yamin debut’s on the Billboard charts this week. His digital single, “Movin’ On” is #61 on the Billboard Hot 100, #49 on the Pop 100 and #37 on the Hot Digital Songs chart. Pretty good for an independent release, I’d say. Elliott’s CD drops on 03/20.
- A new single from Fantasia debut’s on the Billboard charts this week. “When I See U” is #62 on the Hot R&B Singles and Tracks chart (Hot Shot Debut) and #56 on the Hot R&B Airplay chart.
- Katharine McPhee’s single, “Over It” debuts on the Hot Adult Top 40 chart at #36.
- Jason Mraz’s “Geek in the Pink” has entered the Hot Digital Tracks (#39) and Hot Digital Songs (#45) charts this week. Season 6 contestant Chris Richardson performed the tune for the guys Top 10 performance show.
